About Darent Valley Accounting
Darent Valley Accounting is a small, family-run practice based in Crockenhill, Kent.
I have lived in the village for 35 years and have 28 years’ experience in accountancy, working with individuals, sole traders and small businesses.
I previously built and ran an accountancy practice with a substantial client base before selling the business in 2021.
After some time away, I realised that I missed working directly with small-business clients and helping people make sense of their accounts and tax.
Darent Valley Accounting was created with a different aim: to remain small, personal and approachable, so that clients deal directly with someone who knows their business.
I particularly enjoy working with sole traders and businesses in the construction industry, including builders, carpenters, electricians, decorators and other trades.
The practice provides support with bookkeeping, Self Assessment, CIS, VAT, payroll and Making Tax Digital for Income Tax.
Darent Valley Accounting is a Member Firm of the Institute of Accountants and Bookkeepers, and I maintain my professional knowledge through regular continuing professional development.
My aim is simple: to provide a reliable, professional service while making accounting and tax as clear and manageable as possible.
If you would like an informal conversation about your accounting needs, please feel free to get in touch.

My Story
Having gained A levels in Mathematics, Physics and Biology at Dartford Grammar School for Girls' I worked at The Wellcome Foundation in Dartford as a laboratory technician, studying Physiology and Pharmacology.
During my time at Wellcome I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work in the finance department and studied ACCA at Emile Woolf in London.
I then worked at Mobil Data Services in Maidstone as Company Accountant.
Whilst my family were growing up I taught Accountancy at Bromley College and established my own accounting practice.
With over 28 years of accounting experience in industry and practice and as a member of the Institute of Accountants and Bookkeepers you know that you are in safe hands.
